Luego, girando 180º, se sujeta la lengua. De esta forma, despeja la vía aérea y la mantiene abierta en el proceso. Comienza la ventilación. Las válvulas se abren solo al soplar el reanimador. Cuando la víctima exhala, las válvulas de ingreso se cierran, permitiendo que se abra la salida (siempre hacia el exterior del tubo y de la boca). Además, un filtro interno antimicrobiano evita el paso de micro gotas de saliva, protegiendo de contagios en ambos sentidos.
